Preparing for a first daycare visit

Getting ready for a first daycare visit starts with the companion you know. Share their familiar routines, the company they enjoy and the little things that help them settle.

Tell us about the company they know

Think about a recent meeting with another dog or a new person. Did your pet approach straight away, watch for a while or prefer a little distance? Tell us what you noticed and what helped them feel comfortable. We’d also love to hear about familiar companions and the places they enjoy.

These everyday details help us get to know them before their first day.

Share their familiar comforts

Tell us how your pet rests at home, when they usually eat and how they like to be handled. Do they settle after a quiet pause or prefer more space when meeting someone new? Share any changes in their routine and the comforts they enjoy. Bring your questions too, especially if daycare is new to you both.

Plan a comfortable handover

Tell us which day you have in mind and who will bring your pet and collect them. We’ll talk through the practical details and what to bring before their visit. If someone else will be collecting, let us know how to reach them.

Keeping your contact details and care notes up to date helps us understand what matters to you and your pet on the day.

Your next conversation

We’d love to hear about your pet. Tell us about their routine and your preferred days, or call us with any questions about their first visit.
