Writing a useful daily care note

A few clear care notes help us get to know your pet’s day. Start with their food, rest and handling preferences, then add anything that has changed.

Describe their usual routine

Write down when your pet usually eats, how they like to rest and the handling they are comfortable with. A short explanation is more helpful than ‘the usual’, particularly before a first visit. Include the little details you would tell someone looking after them for the day.

If there is something you would like to talk through, add it to your notes or give us a call.

Let us know what has changed

Before their next visit, check whether their food, routine or preferences have changed. Tell us about anything new you have noticed, including the company they have met and how they have settled at home. You can keep your notes short and put the most useful updates first.

We’ll talk through any questions with you so we understand the companion you are bringing to us that day.

Include drop-off and collection

Add the name and contact details of the person bringing your pet and the person collecting them. If those plans change, let us know before the visit. Check that we have a current number for you as well.

Alongside their care notes, these practical details give us a useful picture of the day, from your first hello to taking your companion home.
